Why I Started Sizyx

Growing up, I always felt like my body was… different. I was skinny, but I had a belly. No defined waistline, no curvy hips. At NIFT, during my undergrad, my bust was larger than my hips, and I wore a UK size 8 — but still struggled to find clothes that truly fit me. Whenever I gained or lost weight, it was always my upper abdomen — first to gain, last to lose. Meanwhile, my roommate would gain or lose weight on her hips, waist, and thighs. She had this beautifully defined waist, and I often wondered — why doesn’t my body work like that? Meanwhile, she envied my body :) We laugh about it now.

At 32, I had my daughter. I bounced back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a month, but my old clothes didn’t fit anymore. My body had changed. I was breastfeeding — so I had a bigger bust, a looser abdomen, and still skinny arms and legs. I ordered a size up from the same brands I had always loved, but everything felt off — loose in the wrong places, unflattering. And it made me hate my body.

At the time, I was already struggling with postpartum depression, and this only made it worse.

When I started speaking to other women, I realized I wasn’t alone. Around the age of 30, our bodies shift — whether due to lifestyle, genetics, or childbirth. Clothes that once fit effortlessly in our twenties suddenly don’t. And the brands we once swore by? They unintentionally fuel our insecurities.

I found myself at a professional crossroads — Amazon was calling me back, but I had always wanted to build something of my own. I just hadn’t found a problem big enough to solve.

Until now.

I began talking to more women — friends, colleagues, strangers — to understand the gaps in ready-to-wear fashion: from fit and fabric to function and comfort. Their stories echoed mine. And that’s when I knew — this wasn’t just my problem. It was our problem.

So, I quit my job and started building what would become Sizyx.

With my co-founder, Kshitiz, we set out to create better clothes — thoughtful designs, purposeful fits, and silhouettes that evolve with you, not against you. We’re learning every single day, with every piece of feedback, every try-on, every happy customer.

Sizyx is more than just a brand. It’s a reflection of real women, real bodies, and real stories — including mine.

We’d love for you to be part of this journey — and help us create clothes that you love, and want to wear again and again.
